My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oliver is looking for the special person who will give him the life he has always deserved. He was a stray before being turned in to the shelter, where he was sick and scared. He was scheduled to be euthanized the day our rescue took him in.

Oliver is a sweet, smart doggie who loves long walks but also enjoys relaxing in his crate. Because his former life was so stressful, he developed a couple of behaviors to keep himself safe – specifically, guarding high-value toys and barking at other dogs when he's on a leash (he does well hanging out with dogs he knows).

We know how much Oliver is capable of, though. He is now going through a board-and-train program with our partner trainer, and he has already made a lot of progress. He will thrive in a home that gives him structure, consistency, and patience, and our rescue will cover the cost of an additional training session to make sure everyone is set up for success.
