My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet our sweet boy TANK! Have you ever seen a dog who's more appropriately named?

Tank's low-rider looks and 'big head, no thoughts" personality have stolen the hearts of every staff member he's come across. At four years old, his energy level is a perfect "medium," making him the ideal summertime adventure buddy. Whether you're hitting the trails, lazing by the lake or enjoying your AC and a good book, Tank will happily tag along with a wagging tail and a big smile!

When it comes to sharing his home with other animals, Tank politely says, "no thank you!" He's a people-oriented pup and would prefer to be the center of attention is his forever home. With that sweet, smushy face, he deserves to steal the spotlight! Tank has successfully lived with kiddos in the past, and would love to meet any dog-savvy human siblings prior to adoption.

Stop by and meet our boy Tank today! He is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated, and can't wait to fill your home with love and laughter!

Tank is staying in a foster home while up for adoption. If you are interested in meeting him, please first fill out an application at kyhumane.org/dog-app. Once our team has reviewed your application, they'll be in touch!

MISSION:
The Kentucky Humane Society is a champion for companion animals. Through leadership, education and proactive solutions, we are creating more compassionate communities.

Founded in 1884, the Kentucky Humane Society (KHS) is the oldest and largest animal welfare agency in the state thanks to private supporters. As the area’s number-one resource for pets and pet services, KHS is dedicated to improving the welfare of companion animals in our area.

The Kentucky Humane Society is the state's largest pet adoption agency. Through adoptions, education programs and spay/neuter efforts, KHS offers proactive solutions to the pet overpopulation crisis in our area.

Donor support and special fundraising events enable KHS to continue sheltering and providing care for thousands of needy, unwanted animals each year. We do not receive any state or federal funding.

The Kentucky Humane Society also has a full-time spay/neuter clinic in Louisville. The S.N.I.P. Clinic provides affordable spay/neuter surgeries to owned cats and dogs. To schedule an appointment, please visit www.kyhumane.org/snip or call (502) 636-3491.
