Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Chestnut is an incredible dog with a heart as big as his boundless energy! This affectionate pup thrives on activity and is always up for an adventure. Whether it’s a long walk, a game of fetch, or a romp in the yard, Chestnut is ready to be your fun-loving sidekick.
He loves being close to his humans and has been learning some great manners, like finding a toy when he's excited to avoid "mouthing" hands and keeping his paws on the ground when greeting people. Chestnut is fantastic with kids of all ages and gets along well with other dogs after a proper introduction. He’s also respectful towards cats, though he might get a little too curious if they make a sudden dash.
Crate training is going well, and he’s settling in quickly at night. He’s also improving with "excited peeing" and knows how to signal when he needs to go outside. While he has a bit of separation anxiety, crating him when left alone helps keep him out of mischief. During the day, he’s the best office companion, quietly napping by your feet while you work.
Chestnut also loves car rides! He’s a calm passenger who enjoys looking out the window and snuggling up on heated seats for a cozy nap.
When the day winds down, Chestnut’s favorite place to be is right by your side—or better yet, in your lap! He’s a certified cuddle champion who loves nothing more than snuggling up with his favorite person. Chestnut would do best with someone who can match his active lifestyle and also cherish his sweet, snuggly side.
If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion to keep you moving and keep you company, Chestnut is your guy! Come meet him and let this amazing dog steal your heart.

More about this rescue
Camp Companion is a 501c3 organization established in 2003.
Based in Rochester MN, the organization is totally driven by volunteers.
Camp Companion is dedicated to providing low-cost spay and neuter services for feral, farm and stray companion animals. The organization is funded solely by donations, fundraisers, grants, and adoption fees. All funds we receive are used for veterinary expenses and the cost of care incurred for the animals waiting for their forever homes.
Through our spay / neuter efforts, we encounter kittens and stray domestic cats that need rescue services and a forever home. We have no shelter, but rely on foster homes to care for these rescued pets. Every animal we offer for adoption is spayed or neutered.
