My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Juniper, a feline with a calm demeanor & gentle soul, known for a mellow nature and friendly disposition. This lover embodies sweetness, always ready to share a warm purr or a gentle nudge with anyone who approaches.

**Note:** This kitty has calicivirus. A cat with a calicivirus infection can spread the virus to other cats (but not to other species or humans) during the incubation period and for at least three weeks after developing symptoms. A cat that is a carrier of calicivirus may always be infectious to other cats. Cats that are unvaccinated, young, or have chronic health issues are more susceptible and may develop serious illness. Fortunately, for most strains of calicivirus, adult cats over three years old or those that have been adequately vaccinated are likely to only experience mild illness, which may resolve without treatment.

More about this shelter

We are a local non-profit organization run and staffed by your neighbors. We make decisions on caring for homeless, unwanted, abandoned and abused domestic animals based on what we believe is best for them. We have no affiliation with any larger group and we receive no funding from any larger group that might influence our decisions or actions.

We advocate only for the animals in our care to help them find their forever home with you.

UPAWS does not receive operating funds from any governmental agency. We rely on donations from our neighbors and friends to make our efforts possible. We save consistently 98% of the animals who come to us – which is an award-winning success story. We want to educate everyone on proper animal care so there soon won’t be the three percent who come to us too sick or wounded to be saved. It’s your support that makes this dream possible.
