My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Love isn't a sprint, it's a marathon. And Relay has the heart and soul to go the distance by your side! Relay is a fun and happy go lucky guy who takes life in stride. He just doesn't want to hear any jokes about three-legged relay races - he already knows them all!

This fun loving tri-pod loves to play with his dog friends here at the shelter and would likely do well in a home with another dog. Relay has a rough and rowdy play style. Meet and greets are recommended for any potential canine siblings to make sure they and Relay would be a good match. If you are looking for a confident adventure buddy, Relay is your boy! He is always up for a game of fetch or tug or to head out on a walk or hike. Relay is an active dog that would do best in an active home to help keep his mind and body busy. Looking for a brewery or restaurant buddy? Relay has been a favorite to take on doggie day outs from the shelter where he loves to hang out on patios and enjoy some good company!

When he’s not working on his fitness, Relay loves to snuggle up with his favorite humans and his “emotional support ball”. He’s sweet and snuggly and his heart is as big as his blocky head!

So don’t walk – RUN - to meet this sweet handsome and athletic boy today! He’d love to pass the baton to a family of his own to love!

If you’re interested in meeting Relay, race now to his adoption application and fill that out to schedule a meet and greet. Please note that meet and greets are by appointment only.

Relay is 3 years old and weighs 61 lbs. All of our animals come fully vetted so he is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines and preventatives.

More about this shelter

At the ASPCA Cruelty Recovery Center (CRC) in Columbus, Ohio, our dedicated team of sheltering, veterinary and animal behavior staff work together to help animals rescued in national cruelty cases and disaster response. This team works closely with our National Field Response team, Veterinary Forensics, Legal Advocacy & Investigations, Behavioral Sciences and Shelter Medicine Services teams to ensure high-quality, holistic care for animal victims of neglect, abuse and natural disasters. The CRC team also provides care for animals housed in ASPCA temporary field shelters.

The CRC is part of our Rehabilitation Services Group, which also includes the Behavioral Rehabilitation Center in Weaverville, North Carolina, and the future Recovery and Rehabilitation Center (R&R), which will be located in Pawling, New York. All three facilities provide opportunities for animals to heal after rescue.

As they engage in hands-on care, teams also prioritize the elevation of our work through ongoing learning, advancing the animal welfare field through research, developing effective, efficient interventions, establishing new best practices and sharing innovations with other organizations nationwide.
