My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet John Lydon "Johnny" (aka Slick), the tiny yet mighty Japanese Chin/Chihuahua mix with a big personality packed into a 2-pound frame! Slick is brave, curious, and thinks he's much larger than he is. This playful pup loves to chase, wrestle, and chew on everything to soothe his puppy teeth, so be careful-he forgets his size!

Slick is very social and gets along well with other dogs, but he needs a playmate his size to match his energy. After his intense play sessions, he sleeps soundly and doesn't appreciate being woken up early, showing off his adorable grumpy face.

This little guy doesn't like the cold and will shake, so keep him dressed warmly or ensure he has a cozy spot in air-conditioned environments. Johnny uses pee pads and is great at letting you know when he needs to go. He'll use a designated potty area if you set one up.

Slick sleeps in a crate or a pen with his brother Jimi, often cuddling together in their pineapple bed or on a dog bed. The two are inseparable and do everything together. Johnny is food-motivated and a sweet cuddler when he wants to be, often curling up around your neck for a nap.

If you're looking for a playful, social, and affectionate companion, Johnny is ready to bring his spunky spirit and endless love into your home. Come meet this little dynamo at Little Dog Rescue and let him steal your heart!

* Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Our dogs come from a variety of sources and backgrounds. They are all in need of adopters that have patience, an understanding of where these dogs have come from, and that there will be an adjustment time when they transition into their forever home. This can include learning basic commands, walking on leash and potty training. Some dogs will pick up on your routine and expectations faster than others. Potty accidents will happen. We find that positive reinforcement, consistency, and routine from the adopter achieves the best results. We are a small, all volunteers team and give 100% of our efforts towards doing right by these pups. We are often juggling many responsibilities at the same time and do our very best to process inquiries and applications in a timely manner. We do prioritize inquiries that have a submitted application on file through the Little Dog Rescue website. We do our best to accurately assign breed designations, however we are unable to guarantee 100% accuracy. Sometimes we only have the dogs appearance to go on. Our adoption fees are thoughtfully considered. The adoption fee is not a purchase price for the dog. It is a fee that is designed to support the overall work of our rescue. Highly desirable dogs and puppies are intentionally listed with a higher adoption fee. This is done to help offset the enormous medical expenses we incur when taking in older pups and special needs medical dogs whose adoption fees do not come close to covering their expenses. In addition, the vast majority of our dogs are brought in from out of state and incur transport fees along with their medical and acquisition costs. We ask that you take all of these things into consideration, and we look forward to finding a great match for your family.
