Hi! My name is Dixie and I am a super sweet and love people! I have done well with the more dominant dogs in the home but have had issues with a very timid dog. So I need to be either an only dog or with a confident dog. I’m normally a very submissive girl and I do well in the house. I am crate trained but I’m normally left out in the house when no one’s around as I have good house manners. I would make a bad guard dog as I love strangers! I’ve been told by many people I smile at them- this is how I get them to come pet me! SDRD is a state licensed 501(c)3 non-profit no kill dog rescue and group foster home located in Topeka, KS.

It is our goal to network with other local rescues and shelters to save dogs that are at risk for being euthanized due to lack of space.

We are committed to educating the public on responsible pet ownership, the importance of spaying and neutering, along with the dangers of purchasing a dog from a pet store or puppy mill.
