Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Minnie ended up at the shelter under bad circumstances that had nothing to do with her. She is a sweet and friendly girl who loves attention. She is up to a happy and healthy weight of 57 pounds. She is very patient with being harnessed and is always so excited to go for a walk. She walks well on a leash and loves being outside. She hasn’t come nose to nose with another dog for a temperament test yet, but she walked alongside our other shelter dog, Tank, and they were both relaxed, with tails wagging, and just happily went about their business. She also noticed a cat outside, but was easily redirected to continue on her walk. She’s a happy girl who deserves to find a home where she’ll be loved and cared for.

If you are interested in adopting an animal, please contact the Wabash County Animal Shelter at wabashcountybuddies@outlook.com to receive an adoption screening form. An approved adoption screening form is the first step in adopting any of our shelter animals. Once we receive your application, we will look over it and check your references. If everything looks good, we will let you know that your application is approved. We may contact you for more information about any part of your application if we feel something is unclear or we have a concern. Should your application be denied, you will be given an explanation.

WHO WE ARE...We are a county shelter with one full time Animal Control Officer and a group of very dedicated volunteers called the Wabash County Animal Shelter Buddies (WCASB). Wabash County Animal Shelter is licensed by the State of Illinois Department of Agriculture. WCASB is 501c3. The WCASB helps coordinate adoption of dogs and cats from the Wabash County Animal Shelter. Our mission is to increase the number of pet adoptions/rescues from the Wabash County Animal Shelter, to provide a clean, safe, and friendly environment to animals during their stay at our shelter, to educate the public about pet overpopulation and the importance of spay/neuter practices, and to promote awareness of the benefits of adopting a shelter pet.
