My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Bo is a very loving and sensitive boy! He wants nothing more than to please his people and is always jazzed to go on an adventure. He is a very active and energetic boy and loves daily walks, bike rides, and dog parks. When meeting other dogs, he is very unsure of them at first and can act aggressive if they aren’t neutered or a puppy that doesn’t know how to interact well with new dogs yet. I have had the best success at meeting new dogs in off leash large dog parks where they have enough room to run around. He tends to be unfriendly to dogs in tight spaces, on leash, or near our house in the neighborhood. This being said, he’s gotten much much better in the months I’ve taken care of him.

He has gotten along tremendously well with our other dog Harry, they play together and are with each other all day long. He isn’t too food motivated, and mostly grazes unless harry walks near his bowl then he might grumble at him. He should be fed separately from other dogs, as he will be protective of the space. Bo is not a fan of the brush, and it typically takes an additional person to distract him with treats while he’s being groomed.

His forever home is going to take someone with a lot of patience to help him be more accustomed to strangers and other dogs coming over to the house.

I only have experience with pyrenees that are family dogs, but mr. Bo seems like he could be fit for a big property to roam/keep watch over. He is an incredibly loving and sweet boy, and needs lots of hugs and attention

Additional adoption info

Great Pyrenees Rescue, Montana's mission is to help rehabilitate abused and displaced Great Pyrenees dogs, and find them the best forever home.

Adopting a friend
We work hard to find the best home for our dogs. We want this home to be their forever home. An adoption application is required with a vet reference. A home visit is also done. PERMANENT, SECURE FENCING IS REQUIRED Our adoption donation for most dogs is $275.00 for our dogs and this money is used to cover vet expense, spay/neuter charges, transport expense and caring for our dogs until they are adopted. A senior dog age 8 or older and our special needs dogs, we ask for $175.00 donation. This adoption donation is lower because you may need more health care for the seniors or special needs. We want them all to find a happy home and to be loved forever. FENCING FOR THIS BREED NEEDS TO BE AT LEAST 5 FOOT HIGH.
NOTE: The electric underground fencing is unacceptable for this breed.

More about this rescue

Please note: We are not a shelter. We are a group of volunteers. All of our dogs are fostered at someone's home OR at Old Farm Kennels. They are loved by their foster parents, some of them are socialized and their personalities and traits are well known by the foster family.
