Meet Kody, a lovable 1-year-old Australian Cattle Dog who came to us as a stray on 6/29/24. Kody is a very sweet and gentle boy with high energy, so he needs a yard with a 6ft fence. He loves playing with toys and is very treat-motivated. He knows how to sit and lie down, and if you`re taking too long to throw the toy or give him a treat, he`ll jump straight up into the air in one spot!
Kody walks well on a leash if you`re firm with him, and he doesn`t mind having his tail, paws, and ears touched. However, he feels uncomfortable when his mouth is handled, though he shows no aggression. Due to his mouthy puppy behavior, Kody would do best in a home without small kids, ideally with children aged 12 and up. He`s looking for a family with herding breed experience.
Kody is smart, sweet, and loves meeting new people. While he can get distracted easily on walks, he`s eager to learn more with a patient and loving owner. If you have the experience and love to give, Kody could be the perfect addition to your family! He`s playful and good with other dogs, cats, and children.
