My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A penny for your thoughts?

Hi! I'm Penny! I'm a three year old pit mix who came to HSS after my owner passed away. I am 57 pounds of joy and a lively girl and loves to play! Chasing tennis balls and splashing in the pool are some of my favorite things to do!

I have lived with other dogs before, so if you have a doggy sibling for me to meet, that would be great! My friends at HSS tell me I am such a smart and lovely girl. I have learned to politely sits for treats and am eager to please. I just want to be loved and snuggled for fur-ever!

I am date on my vaccines, microchipped and spayed. Guess what? My adoption fee has already been paid! If you would like to meet me, please call to make an appointment at (928) 282-4679. I can't wait to meet you!

More about this shelter

Our Vision - Be Our Heart & Voice
Building a caring community where every adoptable and treatable pet finds a life-long loving home.

Our Mission
The Humane Society of Sedona is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of pets in our community and beyond. The Society has served the Verde Valley since 1966.

The Linda and Allan Brecher Center for Animals at the society is designed to allow every person, who desires the love of a pet, to adopt and provide a forever loving home. The Center provides quality care and positive reinforcement behavior training for adoptable pets. Passionate volunteers help walk and socialize the pets in our care. Foster pet parents are an important part of caring for pets outside the Center.

The Society provides vital services for pets and people alike through income-based affordable spay/neuter surgeries and vaccination clinics. Also, for families in need to feed their pets, we have a Pet Food Program.

Another public resource is our adult and youth educational programs.

The Society relies on community support, contributions, grants, bequests, investments, proceeds from the Society’s thrift stores and some fees for service in order to save pets’ lives.
