Bing Bong is a striking white and orange male cat with a personality that's still unfolding. At 3 years old, Bing Bong is a bit shy and reserved, not yet fully comfortable around humans. He can be a little hissy and scared, but with patience and gentle care, we believe he'll eventually come out of his shell.
Bing Bong has a soft spot for treats and wet food, which can be a great way to start building trust with him. Though he keeps his distance, he shows signs of wanting to accept love and companionship, often watching from afar and slowly inching closer.
While Bing Bong isn't particularly fond of other cats, he can coexist with them peacefully. He would thrive in a quiet, understanding home best without children, where he can take his time to adjust and feel safe. We are the Jefferson County Humane Society and , except for our humane officers (who are paid very nominally), we are all volunteers! Our members were instrumental in getting a local levy passed to build a new and larger shelter and the doors opened in 2011. We are currently participating in Iams Home for the Holidays Program and the Purina Pets for People grant program. We are actively pursuing other grants and recently have been asked by the county to partner with them in the operation of the new shelter. Since we are a humane society, our main focus is on getting animals spayed and neutered so there are no more homeless pets. To that end, we bring in a mobile animal surgical clinic who performs spays and neuters at a reduced rate. We are always looking for volunteers to help us in our efforts and, of course, for financial contributions (we are a non-profit, 501 (c)3) and pet adopters! Other items such as food, treats, pet carriers, cages, leashes, collars, food bowls, etc. are also ALWAYS welcomed and appreciated. Please contact us if you have an item to be donated or would like to volunteer with us to try to save some of these homeless, but very loveable, dogs!
