My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, my name is Camo. You have never met anyone like me. My life started terribly. I am an owner surrender fellow. The family who owned me kept me tied up to a tree. Most of the time, the people did not give me shade, fresh water, or food without bugs in my bowl. Then, one day, a rescue lady came and took me away. I came to live with her and other orphans. My life is lovely, and I am always so happy. I am ready to have a family of my own. I bounce around like I won the lottery.
My ideal family will have time for me, will not keep me outside, train me (I am anxious to please you), and love me. It would be best if I had a family of my own, only a dog. My foster family is not sure how I would be with other dogs. Please request an application, and I will begin my journey home to you.

We are very careful with our adoptions for these orphans are in our homes. They are family to us. If it does not feel right, there is probably a reason. The adoption is cancelled.

Go meet their pets

The ladies with FOHA, RI (Sandra Lamb) have invited our orphans to participate in adoption events.

More about this rescue

My name is Carla Carlton. We (my husband and I) are retired militay. He served in the Air Force for 25 years. We have always done comunity service. So, when we got ready to retire, we found a place we wanted to live and bought a home. Well, the town we lived in has/had a high kill shelter. This broke our hearts.
Around this same time, I met a lady who fostered for Friends of Homeless Animals, RI. One day I got a call from FOHA there was a poodle in our shelter and he was on the short list. I went and pulled him. Roie (FOHA), helped set me up to foster and list our orphans to adopt with families who really wanted them. I am not sure how long ago it was, 16-18 years, I think. The rest is history. Through them and Mountain Pet Rescue, CO (and a few others in CO, UT, IA, IL, OR, CA, MS...), we have placed over 2500 dogs/ puppies and cats.
