My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Thomas is a special little man that truly won our hearts! I did a image search through google and his breed came up as a York Chocolate but I'm not really sure. His coat is a beautiful swirl of chocolate/brown and black. He also has the most stunning green eyes!

He first found us when he made his home underneath ours. He was incredibly scared and we only knew he was there from slight glances occasionally. We began to leave food out for him as he was very skinny and he would only come out when we'd go back inside. We caught him a few times with his face in the bowl but he would immediately run off and hide underneath the house. Slowly we began to earn his trust. We would move his bowl closer to us so that he would inch closer himself. After 6 long months of a push and shove war, he allowed us to pet him. From then on, he rapidly became the sweet, cuddly, and talkative boy he was meant to be! Unfortunately, because we do dog rescue and have many dogs inside, we are unable to bring him inside too. However, we have a truck parked next to our door ramp (where he began to sleep to stay cool a few months after we started feeding him) that we have completely blocked off so that he has a safe area to hide if needed. He'll usually sleep in there or on our ramp (depending on the weather) until we come out to sit with him. He immediately starts to meow and rub on us until we pick him up or sit down so he can sit on our legs. He's extremely affectionate but is still wary of the outside world (loud noises, passing cars, dogs barking, etc..). I believe with a little patience, he'd really be an amazing house cat! He occasionally does try to walk into our house because I think he wants to be with us which I really wish was a possibility. If we didn't have so many rescues with such high pray drive, we'd honestly keep him. But we sadly can't and as much as we try to keep him safe, he is a cat, and he does wonder around the property. It is rare and I don't believe he goes far, but it's still a worrying thing, especially with the number of stray dogs in our area. We really hope to find someone who could give him the love he deserves! We've rescued very few cats but from the one's we've helped, he's probably the coolest little guy we've ever had the pleasure of having with us. Please consider Thomas as the new addition to your home! He will need help acclimating to being an inside cat but I know he would just be so happy once he's settled!

2.

Meet the Pet

We will arrange a meet and greet to make sure it's a good fit, and if all goes well, we will move on to a home visit.

3.

Home Check

This is just to make sure that the animal is going to a safe environment and will be secure.

4.

If all is approved, the adoption fee listed on pet will need to be payed. This will help cover vet bills, supply costs, and help more strays

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

A transfer of ownership will be signed, but if there are any problems within 4 weeks, an arrangement for a return can be arranged.

6.

Additional adoption info

We want to make sure that the dog and adopters are completely comfortable and happy with the process so we will try and make it as smooth and easy as possible. Any and all questions are welcome!

Go meet their pets

More about this rescue

We are just 2 people that don't have the heart to leave a dog behind when it's at risk of being injured or worse. So, we help the dogs that we can with the bare minimum of what we have to give. Our mission right now is to find amazing homes and better the lives that we come across, which is usually many. The quicker we get our fosters adopted, the more we can help! We usually have between 10 - 20 dogs on our property at a time so we have a variety of beautiful furbabies to choose from! Please help support us to help get more babies off the street ❤️
