My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Annabelle is a 2 year old Golden who was brought to her vet to be euthanized due to “incurable diarrhea”. Well, the vet looked her over and found nothing actually wrong with her, or at least nothing incurable, but she is in fact pregnant with 8 puppies, and did indeed have worms. She was also found to have mild to severe emaciation, and the vet said no way, no how were they going to put this sweet girl down, and told the owners just to surrender to the vet, so they did, and then the vet reached out to us. This poor girl!! She is in a foster home now trying to get healthy some, before she has her puppies.

Say prayers for Annabelle so she gets through her pregnancy with no issues and can delivery healthy puppies. We will update as we learn more...

More about this rescue

Early in 1994, members of the Greater Louisville Golden Retriever Club began to see the need for an organization to rehabilitate and find homes for displaced and abused Golden Retrievers. A number of folks in this club began organizing an ad hoc rescue group. As the number of rescues increased over a period of months, this “wet behind the ears” group came up with a name and in 1996, incorporated the organization now known as Golden Retriever Rescue & Adoption of Needy Dogs (GRRAND). The rest, as they say, is history!
