Who can resist a boy named Buttercup, with a gentle personality, a classically handsome warm orange and creamy white suit of bunny-soft fur, and a dream of a forever home as sweet as he is? Though he loves the lively playtimes with his three siblings, especially with ping pong balls and feather wands, he needs to feel safe with humans to be comfortable coming out of his shell of shyness. With a bit of extra patience, he is sure to make an unbreakable bond with his forever people and bring them his gifts of both sweet affection and kitten playfulness, all in a silky, snuggly package! If a devoted darling is your heart’s desire, there’s a precious boy named Buttercup who would love to be your beloved new addition!

Buttercup is shy and needs a quiet home. (The San Diego Humane Society offers a Shy Cat training class over Zoom.)

All cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, treated for fleas and ear mites, tested for FELV/FIV and microchipped. You must fill out an adoption application and talk directly with one of our adoption coordinators. An adoption contract must be signed at time of adoption.

Our Petco adoption center is open open daily 10am-5pm and Wednesday 10am-6pm.

The Cat House on the Kings is California's largest no-cage, no-kill, lifetime cat sanctuary and adoption center located on 12 acres along the Kings River in Parlier, California, which is in the central San Joaquin Valley, southeast of Fresno.

At The Cat House, our mission is to:
1) provide a no-cage, no-kill sanctuary for feral and abandoned cats and kittens for the State of California, primarily serving the Central Valley;
2) facilitate the adoption of cats (primarily), dogs and other rescued animals into safe, loving, healthy and permanent homes;
3) educate the public on how to become directly involved in improving the quality of animal welfare;
4) offer low cost spay and neuter referrals.
