My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This big meatball is Chase! Chase is short and stocky, and has the biggest noggin in the whole building! He LOVES attention and curling up in your lap. He’s a little on the lazy side and would rather plop down in the grass with his toys but once you get him up and moving he loves taking a leisurely trot around the exercise yard. Chase is estimated around four years old and weighs 75-80 lbs. he can be a little nervous when you reach over his head and would need an adopter willing to work on boosting his confidence! Chase is “dog selective” and a meet and greet with any kids or dogs in the home is required prior to adoption to ensure he’s the right fit. Chase is a big ol’ lovebug and is ready to find his forever home!More information? Call Marion Area Humane Society at 740-389-6548 or email at manager@mahspets.org

More about this shelter

Marion Area Humane Society is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization incorporated in 1967 under ORC 1717. We strive to educate, assist and protect the animals of the Marion area. Since 1986 have operated a shelter to provide a humane environment for homeless animals. In 2011 several generous donors and grants made it possible for a shelter renovation and addition of a separate intake section. MAHS operates a open-admissions shelter with a guilt and fee free surrender policy, to encourage owners who can not properly care or maintain proper living conditions for their pets to do the best thing for the pet. MAHS also provides humane investigations and a spay/neuter voucher program for Marion county.
