Hello friends and future family! My name is Maverick. I’m more than ready for my furever home. My foster family says I’m such a good boy and an old soul. I’m a 2 1/2 year old English Setter, weighing in at 46 pounds. After living outside most of my life, with little to no affection, I’m finally able to become my true loving, happy-go-lucky self. Because of my history, I can be scared of new experiences INSIDE a home, but I’m quickly loving the life being a couch potato. Sure I will go on walks with you, or check out new places, but I’m a little slow to warm up to new people and experiences. My foster mom was amazed how good I was for my first ever nail trimming, so I do have some tricks up my sleeve. I get along with little people, don’t chase the hoomans’ cat, and I get along with the other dogs too! I don’t initiate play time very often, because I would rather just snuggle up with you!! I’m also getting crate trained (if I’m bribed with a good treat) and am house broken. My best feature is all the tail wags I freely give when I see my person’s face as they walk in the room. I’d love to come hang out with you and once you meet me we will become the very best of friends!
