Young, Healthy, Playful!

Meet Pumas!

Please note that Pumas will do best with another feline friend at home.

Pumas is a shy but incredibly smart and affectionate 2-year-old cat who's ready to find a forever home filled with safety and love. Although he may be cautious at first, Pumas has shown his true personality as he's become more comfortable—he's energetic, playful, and has a ton of love to give.

**Petting Preferences:**
Pumas loves head and cheek scratches but isn't a fan of belly touches, and his lower body can get overstimulated easily.

**Lap Time & Cuddles:**
While Pumas isn't a lap cat just yet, he's made great progress in seeking out companionship. He enjoys curling up next to his foster on the couch, especially by their leg or hip.

**Being Held:**
Pumas will tolerate being held for short periods but doesn't seem to enjoy it much.

**Sleeping Arrangements:**
Pumas sometimes sleeps in bed with his foster but is still exploring his options.

**Attention Seeking:**
When Pumas wants attention, he'll rub up against your legs, meow quietly, or even headbutt you for some petting. He's learning to ask for what he wants and enjoys the affection.

**Playtime Fun:**
Pumas loves a variety of toys, especially the Cat Dancer. He's a skilled hunter when it comes to his toys, often batting at them before delivering the "final blow." He's also quite clever, quickly mastering puzzle feeders for treats.  Pumas may sometimes swat or nip when overstimulated so it's important that his adopter is aware of his body language and give him space when he needs it.

**Quiet Companion:**
Pumas is generally quiet, only making small meows when he wants attention.

**Scratching Behavior:**
Pumas has shown a preference for scratching on the fabric of an Ikea chair rather than using his scratchers. His new adopter may need to redirect this behavior.

**Litter Box Habits:**
Pumas is litter box trained but had a couple of accidents after his neuter surgery and when introduced to another foster cat. These incidents were likely due to fear and insecurity.

**Foodie:**
Pumas isn't picky about food but doesn't care for pate-textured wet food. He eats both wet and dry food twice a day and enjoys a variety of treats—just be sure to keep them out of reach, as he'll try to tear through the bags!

**Challenges:**
Pumas can be a bit fearful and needs a patient adopter who understands cat body language. He also has a lot of energy that needs to be managed through regular play, ideally in a way that doesn't overstimulate him.

**Why Pumas?**
Pumas has blossomed with stability and care in his foster home, and he has the potential to become an extremely loving and loyal companion. He also gets along well with other cats, though he might need help learning proper boundaries. If you're looking for a sweet, smart cat with a ton of energy and potential, Pumas could be the perfect addition to your home.
