How this pet arrived:
Pumbaa was brought in by his previous owner on May 21, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Pumbaa, a distinguished pup who's on the lookout for his new caring home! This senior gent may be a bit shy at first, but once he warms up to you, his sweet and gentle nature shines through. Pumbaa enjoys nothing more than cozying up in a warm bed, and he dreams of finding a caring family who will provide him with all the comfort he deserves. He isn't a fan of other dogs, so he will need to be your one and only canine. Despite his age, Pumbaa's spirit is youthful, and he's ready to embark on a new chapter of life filled with joy. Pumbaa does have dental disease and will be in need of a follow up with your veterinarian and a dental surgery as soon as possible. Think Pumbaa might be the one for you? Then come meet him and don't forget to bring a leash and collar!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
