My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Aloe is named after the plant because it survives in harsh conditions. Aloe has a rough and sad start to live. First her and her 6 siblings were dumped in a box behind a high kill shelter on the weekend so they weren't found for over a day. Then they started getting sick and all of them tested positive for parvo which is almost always deadly for young, small puppies. The shelter doesn't have the funds to treat parvo as it is very expensive so the litter was brought to the vet to be euthanized. I happened to be in the director's office when she took a call about them and I inquired and asked if I could give it a try to save them. She called the vet and one had already been euthanized but 6 were still alive. I rushed over there to pick them up and immediately started them on fluids and medication. Unfortunately, after 3 days of sleepless nights giving them fluids every couple of hours, 5 of them passed away one by one. Aloe looked like she might die as well as she was in bad shape but she pulled through and is now happy and healthy. The heartache was immense but saving Aloe's life was worth the pain. She is the happiest, spunkiest, friendliest, and cutest puppy you will ever meet. She is great with dogs of all sizes and with cats and kittens. She weighs about 8 lbs right now and is about 3 months old.

She is currently still in Oklahoma where she was rescued but she can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. She has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take her in or she will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found.

Vetting: microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection. Too young for a heartworm test. Too small for spay.

Adoption fee: $500 (includes the $250 cost of transport from Oklahoma and all vetting listed above)

Optional extra: All dogs must be kept on heartworm prevention for at least 6 months following transport because of the heartworm development cycle to kill any larvae that might present and do not show up on a heartworm test (thus puppies under 6 months don't even get tested). This is a monthly pill and she will have been given one close to transport. However, there is also the option to give a one time shot that lasts an entire year. This shot costs $150-$170 (based on weight) and is NOT included in the adoption fee but can be added if you choose to. This an added option for those who do not want to have to go to a vet within a month of arrival to get a prescription for the monthly heartworm prevention.

More about this rescue

Oklahoma Licensed Rescue Number 95

Oklahoma is a bad place for animals. It's the only state that saw an increase in shelter euthanasia rates in 2019. 2020 probably didn't look any different. Strays everywhere, people dumping dogs in the country to fend for themselves, litters of puppies and kittens because people are too cheap or too lazy to fix their pets.

We help these poor souls and find them loving homes in northern states.
