My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Cupcake, the sweet, shy little cutie pie who’s ready to find a family to call her own! Cupcake may take a little time to warm up, but once she does, she’ll show you just how loving and endearing she can be. This petite beauty enjoys the simple things in life—like playing with her favorite toys, getting the zoomies, and indulging in one-on-one attention from her humans.

Cupcake is a curious kitty who loves being close to her humans. She’ll follow her foster mom around the house, never far from the action, and while she might be a bit shy about being petted by new people at first, she’s always eager to be near you. She’s particularly fond of a good petting session—especially when it involves her paws and belly, which she’ll happily present for rubs! When Cupcake is really content, you might even hear a soft purr or see a little drool as she lets you know just how happy she is.

While Cupcake isn`t particularly social with her six feline roommates, she does get along well with them and prefers to enjoy her toys in peace. She`s a well-mannered lady who’s highly motivated by treats—just a few tasty morsels, and she’ll happily come out of her hiding spot to see you. While Cupcake isn’t a fan of being held just yet, she’s making great strides and will gradually become more comfortable with that too.

Cupcake is looking for a patient and understanding family who will continue to help her build trust and confidence in her new home. She might be a little shy at first, but with time, she’ll blossom into the loving, affectionate companion she was always meant to be. If you’re looking for a gentle soul who loves quiet play, cozy cuddles, and a good treat now and then, Cupcake might just be the purrfect fit for you!

More about this rescue

We are in need of Foster Homes for our homeless animals!!! Can you help?

What is a Foster Home?
A foster home takes in one of our homeless animals rather than boarding them at the kennel and cares for it until we find a permanent loving home. Almost Home Foundation pays for the all animal's food and medical expenses. The foster home learns the animal's temperament and behaviors. The foster home learns if they get along with other animals. The foster home provides insights on the animals that helps Almost Home Foundation look for the right home for the animal.

Please help!! Just fill out this form and we will contact you or call 630-582-3738 and leave a message letting us know that you are interested in fostering!

We are an all-volunteer, registered, not-for-profit 501c3 animal rescue group. Our mission is to save adoptable dogs and cats from being destroyed by finding permanent, loving homes. For details, visit us online at www.almosthomefoundation.org.

Almost Home Foundation is always looking for volunteers to handle dogs at adoption shows, set up adoption shows, write for the newsletter, photograph events, or foster animals. For a list of opportunities, visit online at www.volunteermatch.org
or www.almosthomefoundation.org.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
We are a Rescue not a Shelter. This simply means we do not own a building where we house animals. We look for loving foster homes that will give temporary care and love on the animal’s journey to a permanent, loving home. When a foster home is not available, we will board the animal at a boarding kennel.

Our 5-year goal is to have a shelter. This is an aggressive goal that will take many donations and memberships. We will strive for this goal with a great team of volunteers and help from people like you! Please become a member, become a sponsor or make a donation.

Our animals are found strayed and brought in from the police. After being held for 7 days, we evaluate the temperament of the animal and determine if the animal is suitable to be a pet. On rare occasion, we will also rescue animals that are in desperate situations where the rescue makes the difference between life and death. We do not accept Owner Give-ups.
