Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Slice, a sweet, curious rabbit. It takes her a minute to warm up to new people, but she's quickly won over with treats and food. Once you're her friend, she likes being pet and will follow you around nuzzling your feet when you're walking through the house. She's very interested in what you're doing! She likes to hang out, all stretched out when you're just spending time nearby. One of Slice's funny quirks is that she likes playing with golf balls! Her foster says they will roll the ball to her, and she will nose the ball back to them. Sometimes she'll play with the golf ball on her own too! She has a preferred hiding spot she will spend some of her afternoon in. She's not a fan of hardwood floors but will binky on the carpet.
Slice was in a foster home recently, and here’s what they had to say about their time with her: “Slice, who I have been calling Edna Krabappe (a character on the Simpsons)l, is very gentle, not destructive, food motivated, and addicted to finding hidden treats. She spends the days inside her blanket covered box hutch ripping up cardboard. Her favorite foods are red lettuce, red kale, red peppers, red apples, red berries, and of course, pellets. Because she’s an explorer and only 5 pounds, she can always find a new hidey hole to spy on you from. Whether under a blanket over a chair, a pillow teepee or below furniture, she watches her humans from a flop. She does accept head scritches and pets everywhere except her belly, if you go to where she’s hanging out. She will make her own zoomie path and surprise you with how fast she can make a lap around the room. While pet store toys get a cursory play, seagrass baskets, nesting containers, and cardboard rolls keep bringing her back for some chew time and the possibility of a hidden treat.”
Slice is spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated against RHDV2 (vaccine needs to be administered annually). House Rabbit Society recommends all rabbits see a rabbit-savvy veterinarian once a year.

More about this rescue
Since 1988, House Rabbit Society, its supporters, small staff, local chapters, licensed educators, and other volunteers around the globe have been advocating for the care and well-being of rabbits.
Our goal is to help people see rabbits as intelligent and social pets who thrive indoors. HRS’ mission, philosophy, and policies have influenced the formation of many other nonprofit rabbit rescue groups and set a standard for the treatment and respect of domesticated rabbits. As a nonprofit, we rely on membership support and other donations–large and small. HRS financial documents are provided below, which record our programmatic efforts over the past decade.
