My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please contact Della @ (kittycityks@aol.com) for more information about this pet.

Our adoption center is open both Saturday & Sunday every weekend! Saturday's noon-5pm & Sunday's noon-4pm.

Sofia is a stunning little lady with a big personality and a lot to say when you walk through the door, pick her up, or push her buttons. We’re pretty sure she’s just being dramatic. She was a little standoffish with us at first but warms up to her caretaker in time as she slowly becomes their new bestie. We’ve loved watching her settle in, open up, and become a regular socialite with friends and visitors alike.

Sofia isn’t a clingy lap cat but she does want to be within reach or nearby to keep an eye on the action. Showing big kitten energy and acrobatic prowess, her ideal morning or evening includes playing with a string toy, stuffies, or other automated toys. A typical cat, she’ll be crashed out in a cozy spot during the day and snuggled up against you at bedtime. You might confuse her thick, soft coat for an extra pillow.

Sofia is a very clever cat who wants to engage and be engaged, but she will also let you know when she wants some space. We’ve confirmed she does not vibe with other kitties or house pets and will need to be the sole heiress of your home.

Could Sofia be the kitty for you? Her pictures don’t do justice, so just set an appointment to come see this pretty little gal and find out for yourself!

Sofia is available to meet by appointment only.

Sofia was born approximately April 25, 2022, and her adoption fee is $105. She is spayed, up-to-date on shots and deworming, has a microchip, and tested negative for feline leukemia virus.

You can visit our adoptable cats and kittens during weekend business hours at our adoption center, address and times above. During the week, all our kitties live in licensed foster homes, and while most do come to the adoption center each weekend, not every kitty attends every weekend. For more information, or to confirm whether a particular cat or kitten will be present that weekend, please email kittycityks@aol.com.  Kitty City Kansas Rescue is a volunteer, non-profit organization.

More about this rescue

You can download an application and read about our adoption process on our website at www.KittyCityKS.com Kitty City Kansas Rescue is a 501 c3 non-profit, all volunteer - no kill organization. All of our animals stay in licensed foster homes during the week. You can visit our adoptable animals during the week in our foster homes or visit them on Saturdays at Mariposa Vet Clinic in Lenexa. If you wish to visit them in a foster home we ask that you fill out an application first. We also recommend that prior to coming to our adoption center on Saturdays that you complete an application so you can get pre-approved.....who knows, you might meet your purrfect match and want to take them home that day. We specialize in cats and kittens. The majority of our animals come from other shelters that do not have the capability or the room to take care of very small animals that are too young/small to adopt. We then take them into our homes, make sure they are healthy and once they are big enough to be adopted we find homes for them. We can safely spay or neuter kittens once they weigh two pounds which happens around 8-10 weeks of age.
