My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you looking for a couch potato pal who is content to snuggle up under the covers with you? A gentle giant who loves fetch and cleans up after himself (really, he puts his toys away in his toybox on command!). Mett MARSHIE (his full name is Marshall, but his foster mom calls him Marshie or Marshmallow!)

This lovey boy is overwhelmed with city activity and is looking for more of a quiet suburban or rural home. He loves baths and will run right to the bathtub and jump in when it`s time- his favorite part is getting dried off with a towel at the end. When his foster parents get out of bed for work in the morning, he hops out and jumps into bed with the other adult who lives in the home- what a sleepy head!

Marshie`s foster parents report that he is very gentle with food, he takes treats lightly and while he has a big appetite, he doesn`t ever try to get into the bag of food and never even attempts to steal a bite of their food. Marshie loves his people and prefers to be your one and only sweetheart- so no other pets or kids, please. While he enjoys walks, he`s not a pup in need of lots of long distance treks, he`s much more content to play fetch in the yard and cuddle up for a snuggle than take a hike.

Marshie has no issues being left home alone, but will be your shadow while you are home. If you`re looking for a constant companion- Marshie is your guy- his foster parents report that with Marshie in your home, you`ll never pee alone again!

Marshalls adoption fee is sponsored by Thrive Pet Healthcare. If you`re interested in Marshie, reach out to schedule a meet and greet at info@lowellhumanesociety.org.

Additional adoption info

You must be 18 years or older to adopt an animal. A valid ID is required.

If you own your own home, please provide proof of home-ownership; a mortgage receipt, tax bill, water bill or deed will suffice.

If you rent, please bring your lease which states the type of pet you are interested in and that it is accepted or the name and phone of your landlord so we can verify the pet is allowed. Inquire with your landlord about any size or breed restrictions.

Please check with your home owner’s insurance company or landlord to find out if they have any restrictions on the breed(s) of dog they cover. Common breeds that may not be covered include: Pit Bulls, Doberman Pinschers, Rottweilers and German Shepherds.

For the health and safety of the pet you are interested in adopting and your existing pets, we ask that you provide proof of current vaccinations and spay/neuter status for pets in your home. (We may be able to call your veterinarian if you do not have a copy available.)

A new pet is a family decision and we ask that all members of your family meet the pet and agree on the suitability for your household.

If you already have a dog(s) in your home please bring the dog(s) with you to meet the dog you are considering to see if they are compatible.

Complete an adoption application and talk with a staff member for more information about the animal you are considering.
