Cash von Kaden is a delightful, 11–12-month-old German Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix (our best guess). Or maybe part Muppet - he's so cute, and with an adorable, friendly personality to match! Cash is an upbeat pup who always seems to be smiling. He is a people-pleaser and will happily show you his manners in exchange for a treat. He likes to go on walks and settles down quickly, walking nicely by your side. A social boy, he enjoys meeting other dogs but is happy to be by your side while you give him some well-deserved affection. Cash is a “yes” for giving kisses and a “no, thank you” for cats.

Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
