Meet Zed, the sweetest and most lovable guy you`ll ever meet! Zed is the perfect blend of playful puppy energy and laid-back companion. After a good play session, he’s more than happy to curl up with you on the couch for a relaxing snuggle. Zed is crate trained and potty trained, and he’s a fast learner who’s already mastered commands like sit, stay, room (crate), and place (bed).

He has a heart of gold and gets along wonderfully with everyone, from babies and toddlers to kids and adults. Zed is also friendly with most dogs, making him a social and adaptable companion. Whether he`s playing or relaxing, Zed’s gentle temperament and eagerness to please make him a joy to be around. Ready to bring some extra sweetness and fun to your life? Zed is here to make every moment better!

Special Requirements: Cannot be alone for more than 6 hours at a time for housetraining and socialization purposes

1.
Submit Application

Review our adoption process and complete our new online pet application. If you need assistance, call us or visit our Adoption Center!

2.
Approve Application

If you have had pets in the past 10 years, we will do a vet check and we will check with your landlord or HOA that you can have the pet.

3.
Meet the Pet

Once approved, everyone in your home will need to meet the pet. Also, any existing dog will need to meet a dog you want to adopt.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

We will ask you to sign an adoption contract and pay our adoption fee - a schedule of fees is on our website.

We have one Adoption Center at 1901 W. Ogden Ave., Downers Grove, IL. Please come in to complete our pet application or fill it out online and we will contact you to schedule an appointment to meet our awesome dogs and cats!

The West Suburban Humane Society (WSHS) is a volunteer-based, no-kill animal rescue that was founded in 1972 in the western suburbs of Chicago. WSHS now finds homes for more than 500 dogs and cats each year!

WSHS is 100% funded by individual, corporate, and private foundations donations, and has over 450 active volunteers! WSHS is caring for about 200 animals at any given time.
