My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Move over Patty Smyth and meet One Love's Warrior, Wemberly, a gorgeous 3-year-old red Terrier who is ready to find her forever home! Wemberly was found running the streets of Philly pregnant until a kind-hearted woman got her off the streets and to ACCT. She became a favorite of the workers, who saw beyond her terrified exterior. Like most red heads, her fiery personality gave her the strength to tackle and beat cancer. She still bears a long scar on her side from her life saving surgery to remove a cancerous tumor.

A graduate from an extensive training program at Stronghaus Training Center, Wemberly has made remarkable progress in managing her anxiety around strangers and new environments. She knows the following commands "sit", "out", "down", "in", "heel", and "okay". Wemberly is now a joy to walk and easily guided by a strong leader. Wemberly enjoys the company of most dogs, getting along well with all her foster siblings over the past year. She prefers the company of dogs with calm energy.  Wemberly loves are walks, car rides, and carrots (especially the gigantic carrots from Produce Junction). This sweet girl would do well in a home in which she gets daily walks. She loves to play fetch with tennis balls and footballs. She is even a good girl when getting a bath. If you are ready to be the leader in this dog human relationship please fill out an app for her.

More about this rescue

The Mission of One Love Animal Rescue is to rescue homeless animals, nurture them through foster care, and place them in permanent loving homes. We are passionate animal advocates who value the lives of these disadvantaged animals and recognize their enormous potential to be transformed into healthy and happy family pets. One Love promotes responsible pet ownership and encourages others in our community to be kind to all animals, to reduce pet overpopulation, and join us in our mission to improve the outcomes of homeless animals.

We are a 100% volunteer non-profit, so 100% of all donations go directly into supporting our mission. We rescue dogs and cats of all breeds, sizes, ages and medical conditions from shelters locally and out-of-state, where chances of adoption are low. We also take in owner-surrenders. All pets are fully vetted - basic and beyond - prior to adoption.
