Pamela is a sweet, beautiful girl who is bravely opening up her heart after she lost her family.
This ginger gal has become her foster mum's buddy. She follows her around or hangs out with her - laying beside her and purring so contently! ❤️ That may sound small but it's big and wonderful changes from how she was when they first met! Pamela came to our rescue after she had been surrendered to a local shelter (likely abandoned by her prior family). Understandably upset, she wanted to keep her distance, so it took her some time to settle in at her foster home and let her guard down. But, with some patience, and a respect for her cues, her foster mum has helped her to start loving again.
As Pamela has opened up, each show of trust simply melts her foster mum's heart! First it was Pamela approaching to be closer to her foster. Then Pamela asked to be petted. Then she began to lay on the bed at times throughout the night as well. She's come so far! Sure, if she's not in the mood for affection, she'll let you know with her thready warning grumble, but what a cute gravelly voice it is! Sure, the rear half of her body is off-limits still, but she makes adorable squinty eyes when you pet her face and head! She is actually a lovely, sweet girl, who simply has preferences - don't we all? ... She is also playful, and happy to swipe at fast moving toys and strings. Her quirky and lovable personality will continue to unfold as she gets comfortable in a new home - what a wonderful journey for a loving forever family to take with her!
Pamela will need some help with weight control - a good feeding program and staying active with play will improve her well-being and happiness too. She is not a fan of other cats (she seems stressed when they get close). She would likely be uncomfortable around dogs too. Young children or a busy home would not be a good match for her. Pamela simply hopes for a fairly quiet home, with a patient and kind family to help her learn to trust and flourish into the special beauty that she is.
Thank you for welcoming a senior cat into your family - an adoption fee of your choice is appreciated, vs. our standard adult cat adoption fee of $225.
