My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Halia was brought in by her previous owner on August 15, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Makana and Halia (913690) - a dynamic duo that's sure to steal your heart! These two are more than just best friends - they're inseparable, balancing snuggles and playtime in equal measure. Makana loves to curl up on the couch for a cozy movie night, but her real mission is to keep Halia on her toes. Halia is a fetch enthusiast, always ready to chase after that ball... unless Makana gets there first! It's their playful rivalry, but with smiles and puppy dog eyes that make everyone's day. Once they've worn themselves out, they'll come hustling over with big, silly grins to soak up all the attention you can give them. They both adore treats and have mastered the art of looking up at you sweetly, hoping for a reward for being so darn cute. These two are a package deal, and they can't wait to brighten your home and heart! Ready to meet them? Stop by our Oceanside Campus today!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
