My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sequoia was brought in as a stray and promptly surprised our staff with a litter of kittens. Her kittens have all been adopted and now she’s left waiting for her forever home. This sweet girl is on the shy side when it comes to strangers. She currently lives in our open cat room and most of the time you’ll find her hiding in a corner. It’s an absolute treat to the volunteers and staff she decides to trust as she’ll come out for some gentle pets. She’s a long haired, little gray girl with a bob tail and absolutely loves a good Churu treat, even from strangers. We think Sequoia would do well in a quiet home with someone who’s looking for a calm companion to give her pets and treats.

If you decide on the pet you meet, they will be put in for a pre-adoption vet check. It can take up to a week for your pet to come home.

So you’re ready to add a family member to your home! Well you’re at the right place! To begin, you can view our animals available for adoption online, but there’s nothing like the real thing. We welcome you to come to our shelter and spend some time getting to know our animals in person.

To start off, please review the adoption guidelines below to speed up the adoption process:

1. Applicants must be at least 21 years old.

2. All adoption applications must be filled out completely.

3. An adoption application must be completed before any animal can be taken out for a visit. No animal will be taken out for a visit prior to this time.

4. You will need picture ID, with name and current address, to photo copy onto your application.

5. Any animal on a HOLD cannot be taken out for a visit until its holding time is up and it is available for adoption.

6. All dogs MUST be licensed with your Town prior to leaving the CNYSPCA, ask adoption counselor for further details.
