Big Mac is our beloved brindle Mastiff/Shepherd mix with a heart as big as his name suggests! At around 7 or 8 years old, this easygoing couch potato is the perfect companion for anyone who appreciates the art of relaxation.

Big Mac enjoys life’s simple pleasures: butt scratches (his absolute favorite), leisurely strolls, and the occasional game of fetch. He’s playful without being rambunctious and sweet as can be. His gentle, laid-back demeanor makes him an ideal addition to a home where he can chill with his people and soak up all the love he deserves.

If you’re looking for a loyal, laid-back buddy who will fill your life with love and your couch with cuddles, Big Mac is ready to meet you! 🐾

Additional adoption info

Our adoption fees for dogs includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines, de-wormer, flea and tick prevention, heart worm prevention, heart worm tested, and microchip registration.

Adult Dogs: $200
Puppies: $225

Cat adoption fees include spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines, de-wormer, FIV/FeLV testing, flea and tick prevention, and microchip registration.

Adult Cats: $75 (or $125 for a pair)
Kittens: $90 (or $150 for a pair)

Since 1979, the Effingham County Humane Society has been committed to serving Effingham County, IL and the surrounding area. We are located in the former Funkhouser School, and our non-profit shelter is sustained by volunteers, fundraising, contributions, and adoption fees.

The goal of the Effingham County Humane Society is to reduce animal suffering in our county through educating and promoting responsible pet ownership, including spaying/neutering pets, appropriate pet identification, proper pet care, and the quality adoption of homeless pets.
