My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Duke Urkel!

Duke Urkel was entrusted to our care through our Final Wish Program when his owner became unable to care for him. He arrived at FFF on September 5th.

10-year-old Duke is a very friendly, sweet, and gentle guy, who loves people of all ages and is used to being around young children. He spent his life with small and large dog siblings, and he does well with new dogs following proper introductions. Duke knows how to sit and give paw. He's playful, too! What more could you ask for?

Duke Urkel went on a 2 week Frosted Fling, and his Fling mom raved that he is the most amazing dog she’s fostered. Whoever adopts this sweet boy is in for a real treat because he’s one of a kind! Duke has this incredible way of making everyone he meets feel like the most important person in the world. She calls him "Loverboy" because, honestly, he’s all about love—pure, unconditional, tail-wagging love.

Duke is a rock star at home: fully potty trained, chill when left alone, and always ready to shower you with affection. He’s still brushing up on his leash manners, but he’s a quick learner and improving every day.

What really makes Duke shine is his super loving and easygoing personality. He’s like a shadow, always nearby if you need a buddy, but he’s not clingy. He’s just happy being close to his people. And for a German Shepherd, his temperament is truly special. He loves everyone, no strangers, just friends he hasn’t met yet. It’s almost like he instinctively trusts people, knowing deep down they’re good.

Now, let’s be real, nobody’s perfect, and Duke does have a couple quirks. He’s a big fan of socks and tights (so keep those out of reach!) And while he’s not a fan of being crated (you’ll hear about it if you try), he’s perfectly fine being left home alone for a few hours. He’ll hang out by the door for a bit, then trot over to his bed for a snooze.

If you’re looking for a dog who’ll fill your days with love, joy, and cuddles, you have to meet Duke! He’s an absolute gem, and whoever ends up with him is one lucky human!

Duke is so deserving of the very best forever home. Might it be with you?
