My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Miss Angie – A Beautiful, Resilient Beyond Measure, and Friendly Tabby Girl! She needs a kind heart willing to give her a chance. VERY healthy but FIV positive since she had to fight for her life and any food on the street!  But she is very friendly and smart - answers to her name!

Miss Angie is a stunning gray-striped and white tabby with a heart full of love and a story of incredible resilience. Her sweet, expressive face and gentle personality are sure to capture your heart.

Why You’ll Adore Angie

  • Smart & Affectionate: Angie knows her NAME and favorite humans well! Just the sound of your voice after she gets to know you, and she will be THERE. Angie is deeply grateful for indoor life and will reward you with snuggles and love.

Her Journey

Angie’s story is one of strength and survival:

  • She was abandoned twice, spending over a year on the streets eating with feral cats. She originally was adopted from DeKalb County AC, then abandoned by an adopter who changed their contact info!! On the street she had to fight for each morsel.  She used to run to meet the feral cat feeders from our rescue.  She rubbed against our legs wanting to be petted and picked up.
  • It took our team over 7 months to catch her, but once Angie was rescued by AWHAR, she blossomed into a loving, friendly companion ready for her forever home.
  • Despite her rough past, she has nothing but love to give.

Health Details

  • Age: 3 or 4 years old
  • FIV-Positive: Angie is FIV-positive, but shows zero symptoms. She is healthy otherwise. FIV cats can live long, happy, normal lives and can safely coexist with non-FIV cats.
  • Spayed & Microchipped
  • FELV Feline Leukemia Negative
  • Vaccinations: Fully up-to-date
  • Health: Excellent teeth!

What Angie Needs

  • A loving, secure indoor home; she is low maintenance.
  • An owner willing to appreciate her resilience and give her the attention she craves.
  • Angie would do best in a one cat household.  she is fairly assertive with other cats and eats their food having starved before!

To Do All We Can to Aid in the Rescue, Safety and Welfare of Stray and Abandoned Animals to end as much suffering as possible.

We realize we cannot save the world … but we can try by working with each rescued animal on an individual basis.

Go meet their pets

Because we are not a shelter, do not have a boarding facility, and are not connected with any other agency, we always welcome foster homes where animals can stay temporarily. We also welcome all tax-deductible donations from individuals or foundations.
No donation is too small.
