My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey there, everybody! My name is Remington and, just like my name, I’m a most distinguished gentleman! I’m an older dude who knows his manners and is just the snuggliest senior you’ll ever meet. I mean, just look at me….a big ole’ chunk of love. If my soft brown coat doesn’t knock your socks off, you won’t be able to resist my cute silver peppered face and adorable black, floppy ears. Adorbs, I tell ya’. Seriously.

First of all, if you’re looking for a classic couch potato, I’m your man. I hold the record for being chill and am known as an easy-going dude who will just hang out while you do whatever it is that hoomans do. I’m up for an occasional car ride but since I’m an older gentleman, I need a ramp to get in and out of cars. See, my back sometimes gives me some trouble, but I’m on some medicine for that and it helps me get around pretty good for a senior citizen.

I know a few commands (like sit), especially when you have a treat in your hand, but since I’m a little hard of hearing it’s tough for me to know when you want me to do something. Even so, though, I’m a well-behaved boy who is no trouble at all. I know not to go potty in the house and will let you know when I need to go outside. I like hanging outside in the sun for a little while and will give you a single bark when I wanna come back inside. I hardly ever wake up in the middle of the night, and if you need to go somewhere for awhile, I’ll be a super good boy while you’re gone.

Treats. Did I mention treats? I’m a sucker for a good munchie snack and will do just about anything to get one. I’m not picky, either. I mean, a treat is a treat, right? And if you give me something……anything….just once, (even an ice cube) you can rest assured I’ll remember that treat for all of eternity! Like, this once, when my foster mommy put some ice cubes in her flower pots, I was just sure those were for me. (No harm was done to the flowers during confiscation.)

I like taking care of my peeps by taking a snooze in the doorway between rooms so no bad people can come get them. I’m a big boy which makes for being a really good obstacle. I know how to secure a room. I also give sweet, little, gentle kisses on your nose, none of those big, super wet dog slobber kisses from this dude. Remember, I’m a distinguished gentleman. I get along with most peeps but I’m not sure about the little ones. I also get along with kitties too. I mean, how cool is that? Basically speaking, I’m just a happy, co
