My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet April! She is the most snuggly dog there is and also an amazing traveler and hiker—the perfect adventure buddy wrapped in love and cuddles. She has already overcome knee surgery like a champ and is using that leg so much better now. She’s a big lap dog at heart, loves tossing her toys around, and has a hilarious silly streak that will keep you laughing. If you want a warm, enthusiastic “I missed you so much!” welcome every time you walk through the door, April is your girl.

She’s absolutely wonderful with other dogs and would love a playful canine companion to romp around with. She adores kids, as long as they don’t mind big dog kisses, and would be the perfect family dog. April is fantastic on a leash, listens well, and has picked up basic commands so quickly. And if you let her, she would love nothing more than to curl up with you on the couch or bed for hours of snuggles.

As her fosters, we have completely fallen for this affectionate, goofy, and adventurous girl and will miss her like crazy. But we know she’s ready to find the perfect forever home that will appreciate her for the sweet, loving, and fun dog that she is. April was born in April 2023 and is currently being fostered in Texas. Could she be your perfect match?

OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN TEXAS OR COLORADO BUT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AND TRANSPORT OUT OF STATE. Read below for more information.

All of our dogs are located in a foster home in Texas or Colorado. Our dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue. The adoption contract and fee are finalized prior to transport. As a Mutts N Such direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc.).

Our out of state adoption fee is $350 plus transport (varies by location). This fee includes all current vaccinations, deworming, a registered microchip, fecal analysis, spay/neuter for pets 6 months & older, and a heartworm test if over 6 months old. All dogs will be current on flea/heartworm prevention. A health exam will be completed and a certificate issued by a veterinarian within 10 days of departure.

Additional adoption info

The initial phase of our adoption protocol involves prospective adopters completing an adoption application.

Following submission, our administrative team conducts a thorough review, and if approved, the application is then forwarded to the animal's foster.

Subsequently, a phone interview is scheduled to address follow-up queries, provide additional information about the pet, and acquaint the adopter with our organization. If the interview is successful, arrangements are made for a meet and greet, along with a home visit. For pets adopted out of state, the meet and greet and home visit are conducted virtually.

The final steps in our adoption process include verification of identification, finalization of the adoption contract, and payment of the adoption fee.
