My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kerplunk is a purr-sonality powerhouse wrapped in a strikingly handsome 4-month-old package. At just over 5 pounds, this little charmer knows how to steal hearts with his affection and charisma.
He’s a climbing enthusiast—whether it’s scaling your shoulder for a better view or perching atop furniture like a feline king, Kerplunk is always aiming high. His turbo-charged purr is his signature sound, a heartwarming rumble that fills the room whenever he’s nearby.
This friendly and attention-loving guy thrives on human interaction. If you’re looking for a companion who will eagerly greet you, demand cuddles, and keep you entertained with his playful antics, Kerplunk is your match.
Don’t miss the chance to make this affectionate and adventurous kitty part of your family. Fill out an adoption application today at HSNEI.org!

More about this shelter

The Humane Society of Northeast Iowa (HSNEI) is a 501(c)(3) humane society founded in 1995, in Decorah, Iowa, to help homeless companion animals in the five-county area of Northeast Iowa (Allamakee, Clayton, Fayette, Howard, and Winneshiek counties). Since our founding, we have offered numerous services including dog and cat rescue, fostering and adoption services, humane education, safety and family fun fairs, microchipping for pet identification, financial assistance in spaying/neutering and pet referral services.

Our rescue and adoption program provides temporary care at the Love & Friendship Adoption Center and in foster homes for unwanted and abandoned animals. We also provide a website to help in finding adoptive homes for these animals.

In 2013 the Spay/Neuter Assistance Program of Northeast Iowa (SNAP) joined HSNEI to become one organization working for animals in northeast Iowa.

HSNEI is a Best Friends Network Partner and a PetCo Foundation Partner.
