My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Electra is a doe-eyed Havanese girl with a heart full of love and curiosity. This little fluff ball is an absolute treasure! Despite her previous conditions, she's incredibly social, friendly, and brave. She quickly trusts new people and animals, making her the perfect companion for any home.

Electra adores snuggling close to you, whether on your lap or at the foot of your bed. She's an excellent co-pilot in the car, happily looking out the window as she rides along. She's been wonderful with other dogs, including her foster's 25 lb Labradoodle, and shows the same love and curiosity towards everyone she meets, making her a great fit for a home with other pets, children, or small animals.

She's adapting well to leashed walks, though she loves to strut along on her own, following closely behind. Electra is a quick learner and has already mastered the porch steps, though larger stairs are still a work in progress. She enjoys spending time outside, basking in the sunshine, and exploring the world around her.

Potty training is going well, and she sleeps soundly through the night on her foster's bed without a peep. Electra is calm when left in her pen for short periods and doesn't bark or show any signs of distress. Occasionally, she gets bursts of energy and enjoys zooming around the house, showing her playful and independent spirit.

Electra is great with other dogs, children, and even cats and small animals. She doesn't bark at the doorbell, other people, or animals and is simply a total sweetheart. She's quick to bond with her people and will bring joy, love, and loyalty to her forever home.

* Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Our dogs come from a variety of sources and backgrounds. They are all in need of adopters that have patience, an understanding of where these dogs have come from, and that there will be an adjustment time when they transition into their forever home. This can include learning basic commands, walking on leash and potty training. Some dogs will pick up on your routine and expectations faster than others. Potty accidents will happen. We find that positive reinforcement, consistency, and routine from the adopter achieves the best results. We are a small, all volunteers team and give 100% of our efforts towards doing right by these pups. We are often juggling many responsibilities at the same time and do our very best to process inquiries and applications in a timely manner. We do prioritize inquiries that have a submitted application on file through the Little Dog Rescue website. We do our best to accurately assign breed designations, however we are unable to guarantee 100% accuracy. Sometimes we only have the dogs appearance to go on. Our adoption fees are thoughtfully considered. The adoption fee is not a purchase price for the dog. It is a fee that is designed to support the overall work of our rescue. Highly desirable dogs and puppies are intentionally listed with a higher adoption fee. This is done to help offset the enormous medical expenses we incur when taking in older pups and special needs medical dogs whose adoption fees do not come close to covering their expenses. In addition, the vast majority of our dogs are brought in from out of state and incur transport fees along with their medical and acquisition costs. We ask that you take all of these things into consideration, and we look forward to finding a great match for your family.
