All of our pets are examined by a veterinarian, spayed/neutered, vaccinated and dewormed. The fee for our adoptable dogs is $185 and the fee for our adoptable cats is $35.
You may apply in person or simply email us and ask for our Pre-Adoption Application!

The public can walk our adoption floor during our open hours, but to get a pet out of a cage, there has to be an approved Pre-Adoption Application on file.
We do our best to keep an updated card on the kennels of the pets, giving you the most information we know about them!
We are closed Wednesdays, Sundays and holidays.

More about this shelter
The mission of the Muscatine Humane Society is to educate the public of the importance and dire necessity to spay and neuter their animals to prevent the needless suffering that follows pet overpopulation. Concurrently, the society provides a safe haven for lost or abandoned animals until thier owners or new homes can be obtained. We serve 2000 homeless pets annually.
