Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Thank you for your interest in one of our amazing dogs, please how our meet and greets work. We are by appointment only, all our meet and greets are outside on the same property as the shelter, under our covered, fenced area, so we must schedule appointments. If a dog is on our website, it is available for adoption. We do not schedule multiple meetings with different people for the dog on the same day. We do meet and greets Tuesday-Saturday, no night meets. We have questions at the bottom of each dog’s bio, by answering the questions in your inquiry, you help move things along, it is okay if you do not, we will send an e-mail back to you with those questions. It does not matter if you are a homeowner or renter, but please check with your rental company for breed and weight restrictions. If this will be an ESA dog, get approval from your rental company first. Our dogs are listed on Petfinder (purchased by Purina), Adopt-a-pet and rescueme.org or you can e-mail us directly at shelter@hbpets.org with questions about the dog, please be sure to say who you are asking about. Lastly, we do review all applicants, so if you are looking to get a dog today or in the next 24 hours, we may not be the right place, by taking a little more time and reviewing we have decreased our yearly dog returns to 1%. We get back to everyone as quickly as possible, sending multiple inquires or calling multiple times, will not change the process, if you don’t get a reply e-mail within 72hrs, check your spam and junk folder, if there is nothing please e-mail us directly at shelter@hbpets.org.
*Bonded pair, Millie and Spud, must be adopted together**
Millie (spayed) and Spud (neutered) are 6mth old, Dutch Shepard, Boxer, Pit mixes. They came from a animal hoarding property, their sister Chili was more than ready for a home alone, these two have shown after being separated that they do best together. They are gentle, sweet, shy, learning to be social with humans, not a mean bone in their body. They need a home that will offer patience, love and allow them space. They need a fenced backyard, with gentle adults, young children are a little scary for them. They love other dogs, they have been learning a lot from our social dogs.
My adoption fee is $300 (each), includes: Spay/Neuter, vaccines, dewormer, Heartworm/Tick testing, microchip, flea treatment and a 1lb bag of puppy food.
1. Do you own or rent? If you rent you will need authorization from your rental company prior to meeting our puppies.
2. Do you have a private fenced yard?
3. How many people and age groups live in your home?
4. How many animals, types and what they are like!
6. Do you have time to continue basic training?
7. Please tell us more about how they would spend their days and what activities you would plan!
8. Have you ever owned a shy dog before? If so, please tell us about it.
