Hello there! My name is Helene, and I'm so thrilled you stopped by to read about me. I'm sure you couldn't help but notice my stunning looks and sweet face. I was born on the 4th of July in 2024, but unlike the fireworks, I’m all about calm and gentle vibes.
I have a heart full of love and a super sweet demeanor, making me the perfect companion for anyone looking for an adoring family dog. I'm quite smart, and my rescuers think I’ll grow to be around 30 pounds—just the right size for cozy cuddles and fun adventures.
As a border collie mix, I am active and would love someone who can commit to giving me regular exercise and playtime. I’m still a pup, learning and exploring the world, and I promise to be your best student. Together, we can go on walks, have exciting adventures, and make beautiful memories—just you and me.
If you’re ready to add a loving, loyal friend to your life, look no further! I’m here, eager to find my forever home. Wanna give me a chance to be your very own furry family member? When applying to adopt through ODAAT, please know that we take pride in placing our animals appropriately based on their needs and personality. We want the best family for them and the perfect fit for your family. We look at each and every application that comes into our rescue in attempts to make the perfect match! This process takes time and we do not adopt out on a "first come first served" basis. Applications are found on our website www.onedogatatime.us.

The goal of ODAAT is to place our companion animals in lifetime, loving homes. Every home and every companion animal has it 's own unique personality and requirements. We place our animals in the supportive and loving environment of home foster care. While there, we gain knowledge about their personality, training skills, likes and dislikes.
To assist us with matching the correct companion animal with the most appropriate and compatible home, please fill out our adoption application questions as completely and correctly as possible and any other information you think would be helpful. The application will be followed-up by an ODAAT Adoption Coordinator, with a phone interview and then a home check.
Adoption contract and post-adoption follow-up checks are required as a condition of adoption. Some companion animals get multiple applicants or are not appropriate matches, so not all adoptions will be approved. Not all applicants will receive a yes or no response due to limited staff. We reserve the right to refuse any adoption without justification.
Our Adoption Costs vary but below is a guideline:
Dogs: $400-$300
Puppies:$450
Cats: $75
Kittens: $100
Why the high cost? Can't I adopt an animal for less? No.. and here's why: Our animals come to you fully vetted. It costs us less for medical care than you do to non-profit discount. So if you adopt an animal for less it will cost you more later. Spay & Neutering your animals, along with keeping up on shots prevents disease & illnesses.

We are an all foster-based rescue. Once a potential adopter submits an application they will receive a "Welcome email". This email requests certain steps be done in order for our volunteers to run the application. We do not process applications that do not return the requested information as we are extremely busy. We are very serious about the placement of our animals and want to make sure that the home is both perfect for the animal and perfect for the adoptive family.
