Meet Tessa!

Tessa is a gorgeous brindle 2 year old Pit Bull Terrier mix. She recently went out on a Snout N` About Field Trip with one of our volunteers. She took on the role as the official greeter and absolutely stole the heart of all the customers at Preston Feather. Our volunteer said, `Tessa was the best girl! She sat politely in the car on the way into town.`. She then went for a one mile hike through the woods. Tessa is knows for giving `a look` when you stop (captured in the photo below) that just asks to keep going. We think she would make an amazing adventure partner! We hear she even loves the water.

All of our available dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated, and come with a 30 day free gift of training support through PetCademy. Please come into the shelter to meet with our available animals (Monday through Saturday 10 am - 5pm). If you are interested in placing a short-term hold on a specific animal, please call us at 231-347-2396.

All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, vaccinated for Rabies and Distemper, given basic obedience lessons and groomed. All of our cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated for Rabies and Distemper, tested for Feline Leukemia, and groomed. If you are interested in adoption, please complete our adoption form [PDF]. Little Traverse Bay Humane Society is dedicated to providing animals the tender, loving care and attention they need to become adoptable companions.

From our humble beginning in 1951, Little Traverse Bay Humane Society has grown to meet the needs of homeless dogs and cats. Since moving to our state-of-the-art facility at 1300 West Conway in Harbor Springs, Michigan, in 2001, Little Traverse Bay Humane Society has sterilized more than 10,000 animals owned by community members and has placed more than 5,000 animals into loving homes.

In addition to being an adoption center, Little Traverse Bay Humane Society offers a variety of proactive programs to help shelter animals become adoptable companions including the “Pit Stop Program,” the “Ruff-to-Ready Scholarship Program,” “Spay-it-Fourward,” the “Animals Need to Give Everybody Love (ANGEL) Program,” boarding, grooming, daycare, and a full-service veterinary clinic.
