Feta is a handsome 3-year old male kitty who was surrendered by his owner on October 15, 2024 through no fault of his own .. But because of the behavior/temperament of another pet in the home.
Feta has a black short smooth coat with small patches of white on his chest/belly, a long tail, and an adorable chubby face with dark golden eyes, a black velvet nose, and long white whiskers.
This boy is a big lovebug with a sweet personality, and he is a pushover for attention. Feta was adopted from HSOV in October 2023, and he always loved to be held in the arms of our kennel techs like a big baby. Feta always got along well with other cats.
Feta is up-to-date on vaccinations and was given booster vaccines on October 15, 2024.
Feta was neutered on May 15, 2023 and was given rabies vaccine. He weighed 9.5 lbs that day.
These updated photos were taken on October 16, 2024 when Feta posed for 'glamour pictures' and looked like a fine porcelain kitty figurine.
Update: Shortly after we had taken these updated photos of Feta, our HSOV Kennel Techs became aware that Feta didn't appear to be seeing very well and were very concerned about him. Feta was examined by one of our compassionate local veterinarians on November 13th who made the diagnosis that Feta was completely blind and had no reactivity to light (and was unable to see his optical nerves).
The veterinarian who examined this special boy made the recommendation that Feta be placed in a home with no small children, other cats, or elderly residents. Feta will need an experienced caretaker who can give him the extra care/attention that he will require to feel safe and cope in a new home environment.
Feta is currently being housed in a large cat tower in the lobby of our shelter. He may be vision-impaired but his hearing seems to be perfect and Feta senses when a savvy human who loves cats is nearby (smile). Feta quickly pushes his big paws through the bars of his tower to interact for attention.
Feta is ready to find his perfect home with a special someone either through adoption or rescue.
Rescue groups may contact our HSOV Feline Rescue Coordinator via email (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net). We can usually help with transportation.
