Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Gray & white tuxedo, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 12/5/23, #18874
Cats: good solo, mellow cats ok Dogs: good Children: calm older kids
BACKGROUND: Dex came to The Rescue House as a kitten; she was born with slightly deformed back feet that were monitored as she grew. The toe bones are not connected to the rest of her foot and tend to cross a bit. Thankfully this has not impacted her ability to function at all and only shows in a slightly awkward gait. Her nails need to be kept trimmed to avoid any possible scratching and otherwise she is good to go!
PERSONALITY: Dex is one of the sweetest cats ever and is a very gentle and loving girl. She would do well in a home where someone is home a lot to keep her company. Dex likes to sleep on the bed with her person and on occasion will snuggle up next to them. Since her foster home had quite a few cats around who tried to take the spotlight, we think Dex will blossom even more in a home where she doesn’t have any competition for the human; she’s not the type to compete and prefers a stable routine. She doesn’t even seem to notice her odd feet and gets around marvelously well.
COMPATIBILITY: Dex gets along with mellow cats who aren’t pushy and don’t try to dominate her. She’d be fine as an only cat so long as she gets attention and if there are other cats she’d prefer just one or two. She was okay with a small cat-savvy dog. She has not met any children yet, though we think she would probably do well with a bit older children as her nature is a quieter one.
Dex is such a darling. Will she flourish as your sweet companion?
