Bowie is Koa’s sweet sister. He got adopted last month. He is the amazing pup we rescued who had a severely embedded collar. Bowie had a severe indentation in her neck too when we rescued her but thankfully nothing like Koa's. Bowie is a super sweet gorgeous ridgeback mix pup. She's approx 5 months old and weighs 30-35 lbs. Her foster mom says: "Bowie is such a good girl! She loves spending time curled up with us and also loves to be with our dogs. She has a lot of puppy energy and would love a big yard with a dog friend to run and play in. She’s doing well with potty training and learning sit and knows some routines already without my saying a word.” She would love a quieter home with humans who have time for her during the day and can provide consistency and routine. A home with toddlers and or loud teens is not for her. Bowie would like to have a fur brother or sister to cuddle with after playing- even a cat who likes dogs would be a lovely friend! This soulful, sweet girl is ready for her loving forever home.
We require adopters to have a safe and secure backyard - not electric or Fido fences as they are not as safe at containing dogs or keeping other animals or people out. For these reasons we do not adopt to homes with electric or Fido fencing.
The adoption fee is $675, which includes age appropriate vaccines, microchip, monthly flea, tick and heart worm preventatives at time of adoption and age appropriate spay/neuter.

Gimme Shelter Animal Rescue is a 501c3 nonprofit organization based on Long Island NY. We rescue dogs and puppies who are at risk of being euthanized in high-kill facilities across the South. Every animal we rescue is quarantined where they get vaccinated and given any medical attention needed to get them healthy. We then transport the animals up to NY where they go into our wonderful foster homes until we find them all pre screened loving forever homes. We will adopt out-of-state on a case by case basis, including, but not limited to, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Pennsylvania.
Our goal is to find the best possible homes for our animals, to ensure a life-long loving commitment. We are dedicated to the well-being of our animals. One by One until there are none!
