My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Calypso is THE most loving and sweet pup we have in our rescue currently...and maybe...ever have had! She is just a total love bug...loves other dogs, loves people - big or small - she just LOVES to be loved! We think Calypso is a Brindle Labrador Retriever...she definitely has the lab personality everyone loves and adores!

Calypso came to us from Santa Cruz shelter earlier this summer. She was put on medical hold because she had been hit by a car (we think) and was suffering from a limp and broken tail. Thankfully after x-rays showed no broken bones, but her tail was broken and required an amputation. This took a while to heal, but once it did, she was off and running and hasn't stopped since!

Calypso is a little over a year old and is an active dog. She would make a great companion for a family with kids who don't mind a "lap" dog ;) and / or have another dog to play with.

Calypso is really an ideal family dog...she's got love to give in spades and all you have to do is meet her to see it!

Calypso is:

* UTD on shots
* Spayed
* Microchipped
* Great with people, adults and kids
* Good with other dogs
* Potty trained
* Comes with a training package at The Complete Canine
Rescue

More about this rescue

Hello! Thanks for checking us out. We are a 501-c3 non profit rescue and rehab service in Tucson, AZ

We rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs from the streets of Mexico in cooperation with other animal rescue organizations in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Our shelter in Hermosillo, Sonora, Vidas Con Causa, currently has over 150 dogs. There, we provide medical care and a loving place for them to heal before coming to the US, then we foster and work on finding the perfect fit for adoption. You can also visit the available dogs at the rescue in Mexico. Our rescue partners spend a lot of time getting to know the dogs and we know MOST of their
perks and quirks!

We help special needs dogs, the amputees, the pregnant Pitties, the MexiMutts, those from small independent shelters who don't get much notice, the cancer patients. We provide round-the-clock care until these dogs are ready for rehoming.
