My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hannah is a charming 1 y/o shepherd/malinois/something small mix weighing just 35 lbs. She is full grown and the perfect size for cuddles and adventures alike.

Background: Rescued as a stray in Nogales, Mexico, Hannah endured neglect and malnourishment before a kind soul brought her to safety. Now, she is thriving in our care and ready for her forever home.

Personality: Hannah is a bundle of joy and energy! She adores other dogs and can play for hours, but she’s equally content snuggling up with her favorite humans once playtime ends. Her friendly nature makes her a delight to be around. She also has some interesting quirks, such as her distrust of the ceiling fan.

Health: Hannah is up to date on all vaccines, spayed, and microchipped.

Training: Hannah is housebroken, crate-trained, and knows basic commands such as “sit” and “paw”. She rides great in the car, making her an excellent travel companion. Like most smart, young dogs, Hannah would benefit from continued obedience training.

Ideal Home: Hannah would thrive in an active household where she can join outdoor adventures like hiking and neighborhood walks. She enjoys the company of other dogs and would benefit from having a playful canine companion. To keep her safe while she explores, a secure, fenced-in yard is required.

Adoption Requirements: Hannah’s adoption fee is $350. If you live in the Phoenix metro area and think she could be the right fit for you, please complete an adoption application*: helpadogsmile.org/adoption-application

*Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Applications are forwarded to the foster family for review and follow-up.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Adoption is a lifetime commitment. After an application and a verbal interview is completed and it is determined that the adoption is a compatible match, a contract is signed with specific guidelines. An adoption fee (usually between $250-$500) to help off-set medical, feeding and Rescue costs is collected. The contract states that at any time the adoption does not work out, the dog is to be returned to our Rescue group for alternate placement. The dog is not to be 'given away' or 'rehomed' or 'taken to the pound'. If there are other dogs in the home, they must meet prior to adoption. All family members in the household have to agree to the adoption. No dog is to be adopted as a 'gift'. No out of state adoptions.
