Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Zelda:
Age: 3-4 years old
Good with: Cats, dogs, and kids 8+ (She's shy at first but warms up beautifully)
Loves: The great outdoors, walks, and soaking in all the nature smells
Trained: Crate trained, potty trained, and fully vetted
Zelda has had a tough journey. In 2021, she tragically lost her human and ended up in a high-kill shelter-emaciated, scared, and pregnant. Since then, she's been adopted and returned twice-through no fault of her own. Her most recent return happened after her adopters moved out of state, and moving from the country to the city was not the best fit for her. Both returns were NO fault of Zelda's!
Zelda thrives with love, patience, and understanding. She's a timid girl who may take a little time to come out of her shell, but once she does, her loving and playful personality shines.
Though she's calm most of the time, Zelda has a curious streak and can climb chain link fences for new adventures, so a secure yard is important. A yard with a 6ft privacy fence, or possibly invisible fencing (though this hasn't been tried), or maybe a large farm and recall training would be ideal. She's great with children who understand boundaries, enjoys walks (she's learned leash manners!), and is happy indoors or outside. However, car rides aren't her favorite as she gets motion sickness.
Zelda has been waiting far too long for her happily ever after. Her foster dad says she's an amazing dog and that her future family will be so lucky to have her.

Our humble mission is to fight for the underdogs! We want to make a meaningful impact one animal at a time through dog rescue. At Simple Girl Doggie Haven, our focus is on dogs that may have physical, medical, or other special needs. Disabilities range from blindness, deafness, poor confidence, aggression, and other forms of disability. We are dedicated to giving these animals the best chance of survival by providing lifesaving medical treatment or training. Our goal in many cases is teaching them to trust, so they can experience what it feels to know love and compassion and, ultimately, to find their furever homes. Won't you help us? Please consider donating, fostering, or adopting. You, too, can make a difference in one doggie's life!
