Marco is a gorgeous, young Great Pyrenees mix. Marco was pretty neglected his entire first year of life and roamed around with a pack of several other dogs in rural Kansas until the local
Sheriff’s department stepped in and got the dogs into rescue. A few months later he made the journey to colder weather in Minnesota! He happily spends time outside in the snow and cold weather. He would love a home with some outdoor space to run. Marco has shown some strong guardian instincts and will need a patient and confident owner to help him learn and adapt.
Marco is crate trained and potty trained. He will sleep fine in his crate at night, but he prefers to have free roam. He loves a good bone or antler to chew on. In his current foster home he lives with a dog, cat and small children. It took a few weeks to warm up, but now Marco loves playing with his dog brother. They wrestle inside and love running in the snow together outside. He walks pretty well on a leash, but could benefit from ongoing training as he can be a strong boy!
Marco would love to have a home with a patient, calm and confident human who will give him time to open up and come out of his shell. He is learning quickly, but with his protective instincts he needs direction and reassurance from his human. With time and patience, he will be a wonderfully loyal dog!

Adoption fees for cats/kittens are $130.00. All cats/kittens have been wormed, altered, tested for feline leukemia, given age-appropriate vaccinations, and are microchipped.
Adoption fees for dogs/puppies are $300.00 All dogs/puppies have been wormed, altered, tested for heart worm, given age-appropriate vaccinations, and are microchipped.
We also offer our Senior for Senior program matching senior animals to people over the age of 63. Adoption fees are waived for this program.

Based in Rochester MN, the organization is totally driven by volunteers.
Camp Companion is dedicated to providing low-cost spay and neuter services for feral, farm and stray companion animals. The organization is funded solely by donations, fundraisers, grants, and adoption fees. All funds we receive are used for veterinary expenses and the cost of care incurred for the animals waiting for their forever homes.
Through our spay / neuter efforts, we encounter kittens and stray domestic cats that need rescue services and a forever home. We have no shelter, but rely on foster homes to care for these rescued pets. Every animal we offer for adoption is spayed or neutered.
