Meet Bowie: A Rock Star Looking for His Forever Home!

Just like his namesake, Bowie is a total crowd pleaser in the cat room. This 3 year old black cat is happy to confidently walk-up to any stranger for his meet-and-greet. Whether it’s a new face or a familiar friend, Bowie is always ready to greet everyone with his confident charm and a happy purr.

This social butterfly thrives on attention and loves being the center of it all. Bowie’s fearless and outgoing nature makes him the perfect companion for someone looking for a cat who’s more like a best friend. He recently stole our hearts during the Squeaky Christmas event by shaking his leg like a dog when getting scratches.

All of our cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped, and come with a 30 day free gift of training support through PetCademy. Please come into the shelter to meet with our available animals (Monday through Saturday 10 am - 5pm). All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, vaccinated for Rabies and Distemper, given basic obedience lessons and groomed. All of our cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated for Rabies and Distemper, tested for Feline Leukemia, and groomed. If you are interested in adoption, please complete our adoption form [PDF]. Little Traverse Bay Humane Society is dedicated to providing animals the tender, loving care and attention they need to become adoptable companions.

From our humble beginning in 1951, Little Traverse Bay Humane Society has grown to meet the needs of homeless dogs and cats. Since moving to our state-of-the-art facility at 1300 West Conway in Harbor Springs, Michigan, in 2001, Little Traverse Bay Humane Society has sterilized more than 10,000 animals owned by community members and has placed more than 5,000 animals into loving homes.

In addition to being an adoption center, Little Traverse Bay Humane Society offers a variety of proactive programs to help shelter animals become adoptable companions including the “Pit Stop Program,” the “Ruff-to-Ready Scholarship Program,” “Spay-it-Fourward,” the “Animals Need to Give Everybody Love (ANGEL) Program,” boarding, grooming, daycare, and a full-service veterinary clinic.
